This easy & quick 3-ingredient dosa is a simple, nutritious alternative to traditional dosa – no fermentation, no rice, and no complicated steps. Made with just red lentils, water, and salt, this dosa is naturally gluten-free, high in plant protein, and rich in fibre.
Ready in minutes, the batter blends smoothly and cooks into thin, lightly crisp dosas on a non-stick pan. Enjoy them plain, or fill with cheese or your favourite savoury toppings for a satisfying meal that works for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Ideal for busy days, family meals, and anyone looking for quick, wholesome, high-protein recipes with minimal ingredients.

Wash and then soak2 cups of red lentils in 2 cups of water and salt to taste.
Soak for 10mins minimum or longer if you have the time.
Blend in a nutribullet or high speed processor, adding another cup of water for dosa consistency.
Prepare your non-stick pan and pour a ladleful of batter in the centre and spread outwards in a circular motion to form a thin dosa.
Cook on medium–high heat until the edges start to brown
Drizzle oil around the edges to help lift the dosa.
Lift carefully with a steel spatula. For filled dosas, add cheese (or your favourite toppings), then fold over.
Serve and enjoy!
