This quick and easy herby garlic bread pairs beautifully with any warm soup. Simply make your garlic bread whilst your soup simmers, for a wonderfully filling and nourishing meal. I made my herby garlic bread to go with a flavourful Miso Sweetcorn Soup, but you can pair it with any soup of your choice, or just enjoy the garlic bread on its own!
Here’s a Tip…
The key to infusing your bread with that melted buttery garlic taste is in in the knifework. Cut your bread diagonally and make sure not to cut all the way through your bread, so you can fill your slices with as much butter garlic paste as you want. Don’t worry if the paste spills out over the edges – this all adds to taste! Wrap your garlic-filled bread with foil to ensure your bread doesn’t burn and to keep all the flavour packed in.
I used a handful of chopped coriander to add a herby kick to my garlic bread, but you can also use other herbs like fresh parsley, fresh oregano or fresh chives for an added taste.
Place your softened butter in a bowl
Heat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds
Meanwhile, chop your coriander or your preferred herb
Once the butter is heated, add your chopped garlic, salt, black pepper & your chopped herbs
Mix this all together
Cut into your baguette into slices at an angle (diagonally). Make sure not to cut all the way through as you still want the baguette to be intact
Spread your butter garlic mix in between the slices
Place your baguettes on foil and wrap them up
Put your baguettes in the oven and let cook
Serve on its own or with a soup of your choice! I served mine with a delicious Miso Sweetcorn Soup
