A Little on Jackfruit
Jackfruit is a tropical fruit that can be a very versatile ingredient to have in the kitchen. This fruit can be eaten raw or cooked and used in a variety of dishes, from curries to burgers! Because of its meaty texture, cooked jackfruit is a great as a meat alternative for vegetarian and vegan recipes. This makes jackfruit a great ingredient for a healthy vegan burger as it serves as a low-carb meat substitute.
A Few Helpful Tips
- As part of my weekend food prep, I keep chopped veggies in my fridge for easy cooking throughout the week: courgettes, peppers, red onions, coriander.
- My garlic is always pre chopped in the fridge.
- You can make an avocado mash to add to your burger to make it more moist if you find it too dry.
