Enjoy your whole wheat wraps fillied with delicious, spicy puy lentil filling with a spicy tamarind sauce or a green chutney.

This recipe for Wholemeal Lentil Samosas is super easy and versatile, so you can add and change the ingredients if you wish! I’ve used a puy lentil filling cooked with turmeric powder, chilli powder, ground coriander and cumin powder and garam masala to give the lentils a unique spicy taste.

Prep Time7 minsCook Time8 minsTotal Time15 mins

Ingredients
 4-5 chopped garlic cloves
 1 medium chopped red onion
 2 tbsp rapeseed oil
 1 tsp turmeric powder
 1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ground coriander & cumin powder
 2 tsp garam masala
 1 tsp Himalayan salt
 ½ cup chopped coriander
1 Cup optional: mozzarella cheese or vegan cheese
 2 Packs wholemeal wraps
2 Tins ready to eat Mr Organic lentils

Method
1

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the garlic and onions in for 2mins

2

In the meanwhile put your samosa maker on

3

Heat a little butter in the microwave to brush onto the samosa maker plates (or use vegetable-based oil to make it vegan)

4

Add the lentils to the fried garlic & onions. I used 2 Mr Organic organic lentil tins

5

Add all the spices and salt and mix in

6

Let cook whilst you prep the wraps

7

Use scissors to cut your wholemeal wraps in half

8

Run them through water. This softens the wraps helping them bind better in the samosa maker and crisp up better too

9

Add coriander to your lentil filling

10

Place the wraps onto the samosa maker and roughly fill the cavities checking their location by pushing down with your fingers

11

Optional: sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top

12

Layer over with more wholemeal wraps

13

Let cool for 3mins then open and brush some butter over the samosas - this helps them crisp and shine

14

A few more minutes or until they’re brown and you’re done!

15

Remove the samosa block off the maker and cut up into your samosas. Use a bread knife or scissors to make it easier

16

Serve with spicy tamarind sauce or green chutney
